Ingles Farm Cottages - ideal accommodation for exploring Lone Pine country

For anyone keen to explore the Shropshire locations for so many of Saville's favourite Lone Pine books, there is a real 'Ingles Farm' to use as your base!
Ingles Farm Holiday Cottages are situated at Hamperley Farm, just 4 miles from Church Stretton - two beautiful holiday cottages nestled in the foothills of the Long Mynd - perfectly located for walking and exploring.
These historic farm buildings have been converted to a high standard by modern day Alf and Betty Ingles - Chris and Kirsty Foulkes - and they are available to book throughout the year for Society members and the general public.
Hamperley Farm has been home for Chris Foulkes since 1956 and Malcolm Saville knew his mother and the farm, which is on the land up to Witchend (Priors Holt) just as Ingles Farm is in the books.
Chris has farmed the land since the age of 15. He has carefully tended the fields, hedgerows and animals in a way that is in tune with nature. As a result the farm is home to many species of birds and mammals and the local area is rich with flora and fauna. More recently, the family has diversified into holiday accommodation to support the farming and family life.
Chris, Kirsty and their youngest son Tom have sympathetically converted two farm buildings into beautiful holiday cottages that subtly blend old with new.
Hamperley Farm is still a working farm. The milking cows have gone but there are plenty of sheep and a tractor or two trundling around.
