Cycling with the Malcolm Saville Society - a new venture!

Check out the EVENTS page to see an opportunity to cycle around some of Malcolm Saville’s Shropshire locations.
A cycle ride, following the route taken by Tom and Jenny in The Neglected Mountain proved to be a very successful element of our 2022 weekend event.
Now, in 2024 we are planning another cycling event with two single day loop rides on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September. This will mostly be via the many quiet lanes of south Shropshire, probably visiting Ludlow, Leintwardine, Clun and Bishop’s Castle - although not all on the same day! Each day will start and finish at the main car park in Craven Arms.
We aim to cover around 30 miles each day, at a modest pace, taking in the sights and sounds, including some of the ‘Quietest places under the Sun’.
Not only the Lone Piners, but also several other young people in Malcolm Saville's stories, enjoyed cycling - and we hope this new venture will attract many of his readers to join us.
